ENTERPRISE START-UP PROGRAMME 2026
Dear Students

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship invites ambitious students to apply for the Enterprise Start-Up Programme. Whether you are looking to launch a new venture or scale an existing business, this initiative is designed to turn your entrepreneurial vision into reality.

Programme Overview
Enterprise Start-Up is an intensive, practical development programme specifically crafted for budding student entrepreneurs and those in the early start-up phase. This hands-on workshop will run for six days, from 28 March to 5 April 2026.

The Objective
Our goal is to equip participants with the essential tools, strategic knowledge, and practical skills required to build and sustain a successful business.

Key Deliverables
To ensure a high-impact learning experience, all participants will be expected to produce the following by the conclusion of the programme:
A comprehensive Business Plan
A detailed Cash Flow Forecast

Dates: 28 March to 02 April 2026

EARLY STARTERS BUSINESS INCUBATION PROGRAMME
Dear Students

Are you a first- or second-year student with a business idea? Do you want to refine your entrepreneurial skills, receive mentorship, and gain access to valuable resources? Then the Early Starters Business Incubation Programme is for you! This incubation programme is designed to nurture young entrepreneurs by providing structured training, mentorship, and support to help start and grow their businesses. The programme includes:

Introduction to Entrepreneurship: Fundamental principles to kick-start your business journey.
Entrepreneurial Skills Development: Essential knowledge to effectively manage and scale a micro business.
Soft Skills Training: Key interpersonal and business skills for long-term success.
Business Mentorship & Support: Access to mentors for a period of 18 months.

Training Schedule:
First Face-to-Face Session: Saturday, 28 March – Thursday, 2 April 2026
Second Face-to-Face Session: Friday, 1 May – Sunday, 3 May 2026
Final Session (Soft Skills & Business Presentations): First week of the second semester

EO GLOBAL STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR AWARDS (GSEA)
Dear Students

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurship students at the University of KwaZulu-Natal to participate in the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA).

The EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is a premier global competition for university students who own and operate a business while pursuing their studies. The Programme recognizes student entrepreneurs who demonstrate innovation, perseverance, and entrepreneurial impact. Through participation in GSEA, students gain access to valuable mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs, networking opportunities within global entrepreneurial ecosystems, and exposure at local, national, and international levels.

Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for GSEA, you must meet the following criteria:
Be currently enrolled in a university or college as an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application. Part‑time enrolment is acceptable.
Be the owner, founder, or controlling shareholder of the business and principally responsible for its operation.
Your business must have been in active operation for at least six consecutive months prior to applying.
Your business must have generated at least R10 000 in revenue or received at least R20 000 in investment.
You must not have been a Global Finalist in previous GSEA Global Finals competitions.
You must be between 18 and 30 years old (age limits can vary slightly by region).
Graduate students are eligible only if they have continuously enrolled in university after completing undergraduate studies, or have taken only a short break before starting postgraduate education
