🐞 Discovering the world of bugs has never been more fun! My kids have been absolutely captivated by "Bug Bingo" by Christine Berrie & gifted to them by my special friend . It's been an educational game-changer in our family.

This isn't your ordinary game of bingo; it's an exciting journey into the fascinating world of insects, many of which we had never heard of. Each bingo card features beautiful illustrations of different bugs, from ladybugs to dragonflies, and it's like a mini-expedition right at our dining table.

As we play, my little ones are not only having fun but also absorbing knowledge about the incredible diversity of bugs (A booklet with info on each bug is included)🐜.
It's like a science lesson in disguise!

This game is perfect for sparking their curiosity and nurturing an appreciation for nature. It's a wonderful way to turn family game night into a learning adventure. Plus, the excitement on their faces when they shout "Bug Bingo!" is priceless. 🤩

If you're looking to add an educational twist to your traditional game night, I can't recommend "Bug Bingo" enough. There are also other variations available on e.g. Ocean and Bird Bingo

Back and Refreshed!

Hey everyone, there are a few new followers here! Welcome to the page and thank you for being here 😊

I took a break from the social media whirlwind to give myself some time and space to recharge.

Life got a bit overwhelming. I needed to hit pause, reflect and focus on other important aspects of my life for a while.

But guess what? I'm back and feeling more inspired than ever!

It's amazing what a good break can do for your soul! I cannot wait to share some exciting content with you and hear your thoughts and any ideas on what you would like to see more of on this page and platform.

My intention is for it to be interesting, helpful, supportive and to inspire thoughts, creativity and connection!

I know it’s a very difficult, unsettling and heartbreaking time in many parts of the world at the moment with a lot going on that many of us are questioning… wherever you are I hope you are doing alright 💙

The joys of toddler mealtimes…

We have all experienced interesting mealtime struggles… feeding toddlers while they are exploring food, taste, texture and smell can sometimes be a challenge in our house or just getting them to focus for more than a few seconds!

It’s okay if…
1: They find it hard to sit at the table.
2: They make a mess when learning to use cutlery.
3: Some days they barely eat, but other days they are insatiable.
4: One day they love a particular food, and they next day they won’t touch it.
5: They don’t finish everything you serve!

What are some mealtime struggles you’ve experiences?

Playing, inventing, experimenting, constructing and tinkering, these are all the things young brains thrive on!

The brains of our little ones grow in response to novelty and challenge, which means, fewer toys equal more creative play 🧸🪀🚂

So, which toys should stay? And which toys should go?

Today we recognise Human Rights Day 🇿🇦

We have a few public holidays and it’s important to understand why we celebrate them and what they mean.

'Human Rights' - All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights no matter your race, religion or nationality!
Everyone has the right to life, freedom & safety!

Explain to your little one (s) that from the moment they are born they have rights for example, a right to:
- a name & nationality at birth
- an education
- play
- family & parental care
- nutrition (food)
- protection

Here are four ways that you could recognise Human Rights Day this year:

1: Visit a memorial site
2: Get acquainted with our history
3: Get to know and understand your rights
4: Volunteer your services

Let's talking sharing ☀️

We all hope our children look beyond themselves to care for others. And of course, we hope they will share their toys with their siblings and friends!

But sharing is an act of generosity that does not come automatically. Most young kids are not developmentally ready to share – it takes time before they feel ready to relinquish something they value.

Here is why kids shouldn't be forced to share👇 Have a scroll through these tips!

Shew.... 2023 has been BUSY so far... it was meant to be 'slower'.

To anyone having a bad day or week... we need to remember to breathe and pause between the busyness of life. Your physical well-being is more important than getting tasks done and as a friend said to me recently ... we need to learn to 'let some things go'. Its just not possible to get to EVERYTHING!

Meet the The Sunshine Club ☀️

The Sunshine Club pre-school is run by Nicky Brunskill, a qualified teacher specialising in early childhood development and foundation phase education. With over 8 years of experience teaching and working in foundation phase classrooms with children from 16 months to 9 years old.

Their teaching philosophy:
Our children will learn through play and we will maintain a constructivist approach to teaching, where the children are active participants in building their knowledge.
In the art room, we take on a modern – and more specific – Reggio Emilia approach, allowing children to communicate and express themselves through their creativity.

also has a Food Exposure class every Tuesday afternoon! Swipe to have a look ➡️
