Last night, our Junior Primary School welcomed parents to our annual Parent Information Evening. Families enjoyed a relaxed start to the evening with cheese and wine, allowing everyone to mingle and connect. Our principal, Mrs Lynne Elfick, then shared our vision for the year, the importance of parent partnership, and our Rosies getting enough sleep. Afterwards, parents headed to their daughters' classrooms, where our teachers provided an insightful overview of what lies ahead for our Rosies this year.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us!

On this holy night, we reflect on our beautiful Christmas Carol evening at St Martin de Porres Church at the end of the term. The heartfelt biblical readings of Jesus’ birth by our Grade 3s, the angelic voices of our Grade 1, 2, and 3 choirs, the joyful melodies of the marimbas and guitars and our school community coming together. Wishing everyone peace, love, and joy this Christmas Eve.

As we wrapped up the term, our Junior Primary School came together for a special assembly to thank our incredible support staff. From keeping our school clean and tidy to ensuring everything runs smoothly, their hard work often goes unseen but is deeply appreciated. To show our gratitude, we presented them with small tokens of thanks for their dedication and care.

As we celebrate this special day, we reflect on our past and the journey that has brought us to this moment. Guided by our Mercy values of compassion and collaboration, we honour unity, understanding, and the power of coming together. As Nelson Mandela reminds us, "Reconciliation means working together to correct the legacy of past injustice.”
Inspired by Christ’s example of love and forgiveness, may we continue to strive for peace and unity for all.

On Monday, our Grade 3 Chess team hosted a friendly match with the Grade 3 boys from St David's Marist Inanda in our library. With no scores kept, the focus was on fun, learning, and building skills. Each learner played four games, making new friends along the way. It was a fantastic day of chess and camaraderie!

Last Saturday, our Grade 1, 2, and 3 Rosies wowed us with their talent, teamwork, and school spirit as they competed in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, relays, and fun races at our annual interhouse gala. Thank you to our staff for a well-run event and to our amazing parents for your cheers and support. Congratulations to Marian for swimming to victory with McAuley and Lourdes close behind, and well done to every Rosie who took to the pool!
