What have we been up to at Life Academy during the month of August!

In the kitchen we’ve made LOTS of yummy things 😋 Like buffalo wings 🍗, lemon drizzle cake 🍋, chicken shnitzel and homemade fries and milk tart! 🤩 All of which were super delicious and kids so enjoyed learning to make something new!

On the practical side, the kids learnt about ancient weapons and started the process of making their own! We’ve covered sketches & technical designs of their weapons, whittling wood to make a prototype and we started working with metal! ⚔️

What another awesome Thursday at Life Academy! 🤓

2 of the kids have completed their rugs and next week we’ll get to see the finished product of the 3rd rug! 🤩

How cool are they?! 🥳

And we had another quick and easy (but still very yummy!) cooking class using our free range eggs from the Life Academy hens 🐣😋 Who doesn’t love fresh flapjacks? 🥞

Today at Life Academy was another yummy one! 😋

In cooking class today the kids made some awesome and delicious peanut butter cookies 🍪

While on the skill development side we are soon coming to a close with our tufting project! 😁 Only one more student needs to tuft their rug and then we are so excited to show you the finished products! 😍

Yesterday was a busy one at Life Academy with our holiday workshop! 😄

The kids had so much fun making their very own clocks ⏰ They each got to work with wood and decorate themselves!

We also had a group making some very cool string photo displays! 📷

And we finished off with making some delicious pizzas! Everyone had a chance to make their own dough, decorate with the toppings of their choice and eat a seriously yummy pizza! 🍕😋

If you looking for things for your children to do this holiday, we will be hosting a holiday programme next week Thursday.
The day starts at 08:00 - 10:00 with a woodwork DIY project. The kids can choose between making a picture “hanger” or a wall clock.

Then they will start the cooking session which will run from 10:30-12:30. The kids will be making pizza from scratch for lunch.

Lunch will be from 12:00-13:00 and the day will end at 13:00

The cost per child for the day is R700 and the children will take home their woodwork projects.

Life Academy has some awesome stuff going on at the moment!

Today the kids mastered making nachos and corn ribs in their cooking class! 🥑 They made their own salsa, guacamole and greek yoghurt dip! 😋

While in Skill Development they have started on their latest project - tufting a rug! Have you ever heard of tufting? It’s just so much fun and each of our students has designed their own rug and are in the process of making it! 🤓

Another epic Thursday at Life Academy!

Today the kids made their very own sticky toffee pudding! 😋 And they totally nailed the homemade toffee!

They have also been hard at work on their woodworking projects. We are 2 more Thursday’s away from completion 🤩

Today was a yummy one at Life Academy! 🤩

We made the most delicious shortbread (thank you to Angie Amm for the yum recipe!) and mixed it up by making jam biscuit sandwiches and some millionaires shortbread 😋

Can’t wait to see what delicious thing the kids make next week!

Yesterday at Life Academy the kids made the most delicious ricotta and spinach ravioli from scratch!

The kids started by making their own pasta and then their very own ricotta from scratch! 😍

They were awesome and so delicious! 😋

This Friday (14th April) we will be hosting an exciting cooking class! 🍝

We will be making spinach and ricotta ravioli from scratch! That means we are making our very own ricotta and ravioli pasta! 😃

The class will be from 09:00 - 12:00 and is R350 per person.
