The guitar student flow-chart goes as such:

1. Are you struggling?
- If yes, practice.
- If no, practice something else.

2. Do you feel stagnant?
- If yes, practice something else.
- If no, practice.

3. Are you trying to learn something outside of your skill level?
- If yes, practice it.
- If no, start doing so and practice it.

4. Do you think guitar playing is easy?
- If yes, practice a more difficult exercise or song.
- If no, keep practicing.

To sum it up... PRACTICE!
