Farewell to Ms. Makayla Naidoo π«Άπ½π«
We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Ms. Makayla Naidoo for the wonderful contribution she made to Drakondale while standing in for Ms. Rae-Lynne Bezuidenhout, who was seconded to Riverwood to complete her Practical In-Service Training under the guidance of a mentor teacher.
From the very beginning, Ms. Naidoo fitted seamlessly into the ethos and culture of our school. Her professionalism, warmth, dedication, and willingness to support both staff and learners were truly appreciated by all.
Although her time in this role has come to an end, we are especially grateful that she has kindly offered to continue volunteering at Drakondale and to assist when staff members are away for moderation. This generous gesture speaks volumes about her commitment and passion for education.
Thank you, Ms. Naidoo, for your positive impact and valuable contribution to our school community. We wish you every success and look forward to continuing our association with you β¨π«

A generous gift of connectivity to Drakondale School of the Arts ππ»πΆ
Our school community would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. David Jarvis and his son, Luke Jarvis, for their extraordinary generosity in providing fibre connectivity to our school.
Our learners will also benefit tremendously from faster and more reliable internet access, allowing them to conduct research, complete assignments, develop digital skills, and engage more effectively with modern learning opportunities. In todayβs rapidly evolving world, connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity, and this gift helps bridge that important gap.
What makes this contribution even more meaningful is the spirit in which it was given. It reflects a deep commitment to education, community upliftment. Acts of kindness such as these remind us of the power of partnership between parents and our school in creating better opportunities for all learners.
Their willingness to invest in the future of our learners reflects a deep commitment to education and to the growth of our school. Acts of kindness such as this remind us of the powerful difference that supportive parents and families can make within a school community.
On behalf of the Board, management team, staff, learners, and parents, we sincerely thank David and Luke Jarvis for their generosity, vision, and dedication. Your contribution will leave a lasting impact on our school and the many young lives that will benefit from this valuable resource for years to come.
Together, we continue building a stronger, more connected, and brighter future for our learners.
THANK YOU DAVID AND LUKE! π«

This weekβs posts are dedicated towards expressing gratitude to the people in our school community who make a positive impact on our lives!
Gratitude is one of the most powerful attitudes a person can develop. It is the ability to recognise and appreciate the good things in life, whether big or small, and to acknowledge the people who contribute positively to our journey. An attitude of gratitude does not mean life is always perfect; rather, it means choosing to focus on blessings, opportunities, and growth even during challenging times.
In conclusion, an attitude of gratitude is essential for personal happiness, healthy relationships, and a positive environment. Gratitude costs nothing, yet its value is immeasurable. When we choose to live with grateful hearts, we not only enrich our own lives but also the lives of those around us.
As a school, who believes in firm foundations, we take this opportunity to say THANK YOU!

π£β¨ A Sweet Celebration of Joy & Togetherness β¨π£
While this yearβs Easter was a quieter and more reflective time for us as we mourned the passing of our beloved founder, Dr John Tungay, our learners recently had the chance to embrace a moment of light and laughter during their Post-Easter Egg Hunt.
Our Easter Egg Hunt brought smiles back to campus as eggs were hidden all around the school grounds, waiting to be discovered! π₯πΏ
Learners teamed up, working in two groups, racing, searching, and collaborating to find every last hidden treasure.
The excitement was real, the teamwork inspiring, and yesβ¦ one group proudly claimed the title of winners! π
More than just a game, it was a reminder of the joy, unity, and spirit that continues to live on at Drakondale School of the Arts. π
