What Happens When You Actually Turn around?

Sometimes the most meaningful moment during a wedding ceremony isn’t happening at the front.

After photographing more than 500 weddings, I’ve learned to occasionally turn around and watch the people behind the couple.

The parents holding back tears.
The grandparents taking it all in.
The reactions the couple cannot see for themselves.

Those photographs often become more valuable as the years pass.
