The Go for Gold Programme is a fully integrated, four-phased programme initiated by the construction sector.

It was established in 1999 in response to the critical shortage of candidates from disadvantaged communities seeking technical qualifications. Our intervention consists of four closely integrated phases:
• Essential mathematics, science, life skills and computer skills development at high school level (Grades 11 and 12)
• a one year job shadowing/internship in the built environment incorporating

Tonight is the highlight of the Go for Gold calendar – our Annual Industry Fundraising Dinner at Spyced Restaurant, V&A Waterfront.

We are honoured to welcome some of South Africa’s most respected construction and manufacturing companies as they come together to celebrate the impact of investing in young people and building the future workforce of the built environment.

Together, we are celebrating the achievements of talented youth who have overcome barriers to pursue careers as engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers, technicians and other technical professionals through Go for Gold’s Education-to-Employment Programme.

To our 34 partner companies: thank you for making these success stories possible. Your commitment continues to transform lives while strengthening the future of our industry.

Missed this year's event? We'd love to welcome your company to this prestigious gathering in the future.

𝘾𝒆𝙡𝒆𝙗𝒓𝙖𝒕𝙞𝒏𝙜 𝙊𝒖𝙧 𝙂𝒓𝙖𝒅𝙪𝒂𝙩𝒆𝙨 🎓💙

Today, we celebrate the first group of our latest Go for Gold graduates as they officially step into industry as qualified technical professionals.

Each graduate represented here has overcome challenges, committed themselves to years of growth and hard work, and embraced every opportunity presented to them through the Go for Gold journey. Seeing them now enter South Africa’s technical, engineering, infrastructure, and built environment sectors fills us with immense pride.

What makes this moment even more special are the personal messages shared by the graduates themselves. Their words reflect gratitude, resilience, perseverance, and the impact that long-term support and opportunity can have on a young person’s future.

We hope you enjoy reading their messages and celebrating this milestone alongside us as we give this group their well-deserved moment to shine. ✨

To our graduates — congratulations on this incredible achievement. Your journeys are inspiring, and this is only the beginning.

On Saturday, 21 February 2026, Go for Gold hosted the Grade 11 Induction Meeting, welcoming our new cohort’s parents and introducing them to everything the programme offers their children. The full programme was explained in detail, while our alumni kept the Grade 11 students engaged with fun and interactive team-building activities. We look forward to seeing this cohort demonstrate the same dedication and determination as those who came before them.
