24 - 25 September 2022, Happy Feet Hiking Club did the most suiting hike in the Table Mountain Nature Reserve. We did the Cape of Goodhope Trail which also included part of the then Hoerikwagga Trail but is also indicated as the Cape Point Trail on Slingsby maps. The chaps arrived and decided that we will do the trail in reverse, which was a very good decision. On Saturday we walked 23.56 km within 7:58:23. It was a grinding affair as the terrain was moderate to negotiate but the dunes at Platboom really provoked some grim thoughts. The ostriches, elande and various bird species made up for the gruesome toiling. Day 2 started with a brisk walk to the Buffelsfontein Visitor's Centre. The 2nd half of the day was filled with spectacular views of False Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Point. The views came with industrious toiling over Kanonkop, around Paulsberg and finally over Judas Peak. Tired, battered and slightly bruised we saw, came and conquered!

On the 31st of July '22, Happy Feet Hiking Club hiked to Noordhoek Peak ( 764 m) via Blackburn Ravine and had a well deserve tea break at Sentinel View point. The ascend was abrupt and tested some stamina. At the tope of Noordhoek Peak we could see Lower Chapman's Peak ( 547) & Chapman's Peak (592m). This peak is special because you can view False Bay and Houtbay with a 360° tilt. Thank you to Ziyaad for always hosting us when we are in Cape Town. Until the next one!

4 - 8 July 2022 Happy Feet took to the Southern Cederberg with Noorder Paarl High school learners. The Cederberg dished up everything that it is known for, cold weather, idyllic scenery and awesome rock formation. We had a base camp and had day hikes to certain Peaks like, Apex Peak, Sandfontein Peak and discovered Sandfontein Arch. We have to thank various role players that makes the organizing a lot easier. First of all thank you to Noorder - Paarl High school for allowing us to work with your learners, we believe that the exposure to the mountains and excursions improve and help shape their world. A big thankyou goes out to the Mountain Club of South Africa for the permission to explore sections of the Cederberg. Thank you to the teachers Mr. Julies & Mr. Le Cordeur for your never ending support. To our chaperones that accompany our learners for extra support and guidance we will never be able to find the right words to thank you.
