A School of Excellence! Congratulations to the learners who participated in the Foundation Phase reading competition.

Reading in Foundation Phase helps learners from learning to read to reading to learn. Regular reading practice during Grade R to Grade 3 helps them develop fluency and automaticity that will serve them throughout their educational journey and life.

“Blessed is the HAND that GIVES and the MIND that THINKS for OTHERS!”
FRANKLY, it’s not how big the gift is, but rather how HAPPY the house is! That MATTERS MOST!
Singumzi wase Xolani Primary School, we are so fortunate to have experienced the Purest LOVE of our Former Principal’s Offspring (Siv Ngesi), who unfailingly bequeaths to our school together with HOLLYWOOD FOUNDATION. On the 5th March 2024, they left not only the staff and learners but the parents as well with so much Gratitude when they donated New School Uniform, backpacks and Shoes to Xolani Primary School learners.
The impact made by Mr. Ngesi and HOLLYWOOD Foundation did not only touch the lives of those who belong to this School of Excellence but the Community as a whole. This is attested by the numerous messages and calls made by the parents showing appreciation for the Love and Warmth demonstrated by these elegant individuals.
The Principal, Mrs. Sakasa and the Staff would like to send a word of gratitude to Siv Ngesi and Hollywood Foundation for changing lives and putting not only a SMILE but HOPE to these young FUTURE LEADERS.
SIBAMBA NGAZO ZOZIBINI SINGUMZI WASE XOLANI PRIMARY SCHOOL, SISITHI ISANDLA ESIPHAYO SESONA SISIKELELEKAYO!!!

Last week we were blessed with the presence of one of the most sophisticated women in the whole world, Dr. Renita Wilson-gibbs. She is a God-fearing and successful entrepreneur who also happens to be an Author. Dr. Wilson- gibbs is an American 'Fatherless Daughter Advocate' who's goal is to empower girls through her book "Finding Daddy."

The school would like to thank this passionate, powerful and phenomenal woman, who's called upon to uplift these individuals with the tools of knowledge through this book.

Thank you Dr Renita Wilson-gibbs for investing not only your time, but your knowledge, experiences and sharing your life innovating these young future leaders. May the Good Lord bless you abundantly.

Happy Heritage Day!

"Sometimes it is impossible to know where you are headed without reflecting on where you came from. Understanding your heritage, your roots and your ancestry is an important part of carving out your future." "What you abandon isn't what is engraved in stone monuments, however what is woven into the lives of others."
~unknown

Xolani Primary School celebrated Heritage today in style. Different cultures and tribes were represented. As school of Diversity, we embrace each and every culture within XPS family. in this way we pass on not only education, but sense of identity. Kubalulekile ukukhulisela abantwana bethu ekuzazini ukuba bangobani. Inyathi ibuzwa kwabaphambili!

Remember:
It is not the honor that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind. A concerted effort to preserve our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational, and economic legacies - all of the things that quite literally make us who we are.

"The thing with kids is that you only get one chance to do it right. It's really important to share their gifts while they're discovering them. That's why spelling bees are such a compelling story. They stimulate them intellectually, they awaken their competitive spirit, but it's fun. There's something fun about words."
~Laurence Fishburne

This is the very same reason that we opened this week on a didactic note. Our Grade 6 Learners participated on a SPELLING BEE COMPETITON, Monday the 18th of September 2023. As entertaining as it was, our learners had all sorts of emotions. Some were sweating bullets due to panic; others were courageous and tranquil. The competition went well and indeed taught each of our learners that, indeed spelling is improved when reading is done. Thank you to all the learners that had partaken in the competition! To those who won, CONGRATULATIONS!

“EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON WHICH YOU CAN USE TO CHANGE THE WORLD.” – NELSON MANDELA

Social Sciences Team worked extremely well on this competition, as they were preparing the young leaders who made us proud when they brought the trophies home. This was after they won the Social Sciences Competition, representing not only the school but the circuit at large at the Metro Central District Social Sciences Competition. these young leaders have proved that subjects like social sciences, math, and English can all lead you to learn the knowledge you will need to have an impact on the world.
