As a Coach with over 13 years' experience, I find that in the corporate world or most organizations, the coaching conversation is not always the right conversation to have when we want our people to perform at their peak.
There are times when people absolutely need to be clear, to be firm, direct, rebuild trust where relationships break down. Leaders also want to feel comfortable to delegate and even mentor possible successors in the organization.
When we are coaching people, it is assumed that all of the above is in place and we only need to come alongside to help them get unstuck in order to move forward effectively. However, recent discoveries points to the abovementioned factors often being the boulders or stumbling blocks in the way. It is with this in mind that we now intend to introduce 6 new conversations around ANEW WAY OF LEADING that will close the gap between leadership and its teams and remove the said stumbling blocks in order to achieve effective desired outcomes.
The 1st of these series of conversations will focus on creating a space where leaders have conversations that move from instructing, telling or advising their teams to one of actively engaging in conversations for understanding, possibilities and agreed action. Looking closely at the art of speaking, questioning and active listening, we promise greater impact and peak performance through conversations and not instructions.
