Pinkie’s CHOW began as a heartfelt initiative inspired by the legacy of our grandparents, Achmat (Aggies) and Gadija Galant, who lovingly prepared meals for As-Shaheed Imam Abdullah Haron. At the same time, he ventured into the townships with the Galant boys, one of whom was Abduraghman Galant - affectionately known as Pinkie. Pinkie is the father of Fatima Galant Abrahams, one of our directors, and the narrator for one of our best-selling self-published books, Imam Haron’s Bilal.

The family’s roots run deep in Claremont, where these acts of kindness started, and the feeding scheme continues to be a community-driven effort today. What began as a simple way of providing meals to those in need now serves to honor a legacy that touches countless lives. Every R100 donation helps us spread love and kindness.
