Today, our Basic Internship explored Asia Meets Africa from a different perspective, through the timeless art of clay.
From one continent to another, clay reminds us that we are connected by the earth beneath our feet. Shaped by human hands, it becomes more than an object, it becomes culture, identity, heritage, and a story passed from one generation to the next.

Our Academy had a great day outdoors learning about birds and the environment.
The students listened to bird sounds, looked through the bushes for birds, and learned about the importance of protecting nature and conservation.

It was a lovely day of learning, exploring and enjoying the outdoors!

After travelling to Thailand last week, we journeyed to North Korea and spent time praying for this country and its people. 🙏

God is an amazing God, and there is no place too far, no situation too difficult, and no people beyond His reach. We trust that He is at work, even in places we may never be able to visit ourselves.

Today we kicked off our educational journey with “Asia Meets Africa.” 🌍

Over the next seven weeks, we’ll explore the roots of our Coloured culture, uncovering the history and stories behind the slave trade, the Spice Route, and the many influences that shaped who we are today.

We’ll discover how different cultures, people, traditions, and histories came together, grew, developed, and ultimately formed the rich and diverse culture we call our own.

“When we strengthen a mother, we strengthen a child. When we equip parents with knowledge, love and practical skills, we give children a stronger foundation to grow, thrive and become confident, resilient adults.”

This week, we began our Parenting Strengthening Programme with our young mothers whose little ones attend our crèche. Once a week, they come together to learn about their children’s development, how to nurture them with love and understanding, and how to create a safe and supportive environment where their children can grow into strong, healthy and confident individuals.

Investing in parents today is investing in the future of our children. 💛

A New Basic Internship Group

Every new step towards changing your life can feel scary, challenging, and uncertain. Our basic internship participants may not know all the challenges that lie ahead, but they have one important thing in common: they feel ready to move forward in life.

Starting something new takes courage. It means stepping outside your comfort zone, learning new skills, facing challenges, and discovering what you are capable of.

This week marks the beginning of a new journey for a couple of young people. We are proud to walk alongside them as they take these first steps towards a brighter future.
