Shema Christian Counselling

Shema Christian Counselling My professional journey started with a Bachelors of Education degree, specializing in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training.

Upon completion, I became aware of the largely unmet need amongst adolescents for emotional support and guidance, and thus completed my Bachelors of Social Sciences Honors in Psychology at SACAP (South African Council of Applied Psychology) to become equipped in this area.

Next week I will be going on leave from 22-28 September. I’m excited to have my cup filled again! ☕️🕊️💛

I believe prayer and intercession is one of the most powerful things we can do on a day like World Su***de Prevention Day. Stand in agreement with this prayer. Send this prayer to someone you know is battling su***de and mental health. Share this prayer to your story to reach someone that needs truth declared over them. 🙏🏼

Both conviction and condemnation make you aware of sin in your life. But learning to discern between them is so important, so that you don’t fall for the enemy’s schemes. 👆🏼I hope this helps. 🙏🏼

“Come and just look
Come and just touch My hands
Scars of love the evidence.
Come in your mess
Come in your shame
I’ll take it,
You weren’t meant to earn this.
Come and find peace
You can just be
You say
You’re so free,
Receive My grace.”
Lyrics from Grace by Grace Runkle

There is no way around emotions, just through, because “pain demands to be felt,” as John Green states. Getting better at feeling is something that does not come naturally to most of us. Counselling provides a space to learn and grow in this. Remember, we weren’t created to do this walk alone.

Oh faithful You’ve been, faithful You are! 🕊️🙏🏼

The Lord is the One who makes these testimonies possible. He is the source of every transformed life and every moment of healing. He is the One who continues to shape and refine me into the counsellor I am today. He is our “Wonderful Counsellor,” as Isaiah 9:6 declares, and what better place to learn how to counsel others?

There’s a peace that comes with serving a God that makes everything beautiful in its time. Nothing to prove, nothing to force, nothing to fear. Let’s breathe, and rest in God, not in time frames, not in outcomes, not in what life ‘should’ look like. It’s all in His caring hands, and there is no better place for a surrendered life to be.🦋
