From research planning and survey design to referencing guides and project development tips, these resources are designed to help young scientists improve their skills and prepare for District Expos and Regional Science Fairs.
Learners and educators are encouraged to make use of the Eskom Expo Guidebook and online resources to build stronger, more innovative projects.

What an inspiring day in Mashaeng Fouriesburg! 🌟 Today’s District Expo with Ipokelleng Secondary and Mashaeng Secondary showcased creativity, curiosity, and excellent scientific thinking from our young scientists. Mashaeng District Expo (est. 2024), we’re incredibly proud of the progress and quality of every project. We had the privilege of visiting schools across the Thabo Mofutsanyane Education District for the Lindley District Expo on 25 May 2026 — and what a showcase of talent! Our upcoming young scientists impressed with creative, well-researched projects. Huge thanks to the schools from Lindley, Mamafubedu, Matwabeng, and Leratsana for their hard work and commitment to STEM.
We’re now gearing up for the 2026 Regional Science Fair on 25 July 2026 in Harrismith — see you there to celebrate and support the next generation of innovators!

The 2026 District Expos are well underway in the Bethlehem region! We’ve seen incredible displays of talent, critical thinking, and problem-solving from our learners. CELEBRATING NATIONAL SCIENCE MONTH
National Science Month, an expansion of National Science Week, gives individuals and institutions a focused opportunity to interest South Africans in science, technology and innovation and show how they affect our lives.
We are calling everyone - science councils, industry, universities, schools, TVET colleges, and government departments from across the country - to join us and demonstrate their connection to science, technology and innovation.

NATIONAL SCIENCE MONTH LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION
The National Science Month (NSM) Logo Design Competition invites creative and innovative students from Higher Education Institutions (HEIS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges across South Africa to design the official logo that will represent this observance.
This national competition, facilitated by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) in its capacity as coordinator of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation's (DSTI) science engagement programme, seeks to create a distinctive visual identity that captures the spirit of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in society.
Through this initiative, DSTI and NRF-SAASTA aim to harness the creative talent of South Africa's students to develop a logo that becomes a recognisable symbol of the public's connection to STI.
