📢He's also coming home 📢

He doesn't have as far to travel as Dean from New Zealand. Darren is coming home from Zambia!

We are delighted to welcome Darren Price Moor as our Phase Lead: Senior Primary.
With a passion for education and pupil development, Darren is committed to creating a positive, engaging, and respectful learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed. Believing that learning should be both meaningful and enjoyable, he strives to inspire pupils to develop confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning and the outdoors.

Driven by a strong belief in the importance of mutual respect and positive relationships, Darren aims to create a classroom culture where pupils feel safe to challenge themselves, learn from their experiences, and celebrate their progress. Above all, he is passionate about recognising the potential in every pupil and providing the encouragement, guidance, and high expectations needed to help each child reach their full potential, both personally and academically.

📢He's coming home📢

We’re thrilled to welcome Dean to the Seaton House family! With 22 years in education — including 7 years as Director of Sport at Macleans College in Auckland, New Zealand, leading a community of 3,000+ students from 67 nationalities — Dean brings a wealth of experience and a heart for young people.
A Glenwood High School old boy, Dean’s journey has taken him from Durban High School and Northwood, to New Zealand and now back home to the KZN North Coast.
His philosophy is simple: when young people feel they belong, they’re empowered to grow, contribute and achieve.
Outside of school, you’ll find Dean chasing waves and fish — ski fishing, freediving, golf, and any holiday with a beach and a rod in hand.
Welcome to Seaton House, Dean — we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make!

We were honoured to welcome the ISASA leadership team to our site this week. Their visit provided a valuable opportunity to engage on the future of independent education and the important role ISASA plays in supporting schools through advocacy, professional development, policy guidance, and the promotion of best practice.
We would like to thank them for their time, insights, and continued commitment to strengthening and supporting independent schools across Southern Africa.

We are so excited to welcome May Coomer, who joins Seaton House as Head of The Arts and English.

An educator, Dramatic Arts graduate, and certified Life Coach, May is passionate about helping young people discover their voice, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning. She believes children are capable, curious individuals who flourish when they feel known, valued, and inspired, and when they are given the opportunity to engage with great ideas, stories, literature, and the Arts. May is particularly passionate about the power of English and the Arts to broaden young minds, spark imagination, and help students understand both themselves and the world around them. Her approach combines academic rigor with creativity, curiosity, and genuine connection, encouraging students to think deeply, communicate confidently, and discover their unique gifts. As a mother of two, May understands the privilege and responsibility of helping young people grow not only academically but also into kind, resilient, and confident individuals. She is excited to be part of the founding team at Seaton House and to help create a culture where every child is known, inspired, and encouraged to flourish.

On Thursday, we paused on site to mark a special moment in the building of Seaton House — our roof-wetting ceremony.

Eighteen months ago, this was 25 hectares of open land on the KZN North Coast. Today, there's a roof over our heads, and it's starting to look like a school.

This moment belongs to so many people:

To our founding families, who said yes to a school that didn't exist yet — who trusted a vision before there was a single wall standing.

To the stakeholders, partners and contractors turning up on site every day, making decisions big and small that will shape how generations of children learn, play and grow here.

And to the very special guests and donors who joined us today to wet the roof with us — thank you for believing in Seaton House early, and for helping build something far bigger than bricks and mortar.

We're so grateful you're part of this journey with us. There's still a long way to go before January 2027, but for now, we celebrate — and we pray this roof shelters generations of scholars to come.
