There’s something special happening around the chessboard at Maharishi Invincibility School. ♟️

Grade 8 learner Praise Maseko recently placed second in his age group at a district chess competition, scoring 4½ out of 5 points. He is set to represent the school at the provincial championship in Benoni on 31 October. Congratulations, Praise! 👏

He’s part of a growing community of young players at Maharishi who have discovered the strategy, challenge and joy of chess.

One of them is Emmanuel. At 13, he has already played at provincial level and dreams of becoming a chess master. His favourite player is Hikaru Nakamura, whose skill inspires him to keep learning and improving. Emmanuel loves Maths too: another chance to solve a problem and think a few moves ahead.

Maharishi provides fully subsidised education to its learners, creating space for young people like Emmanuel to learn, explore their interests and pursue their ambitions. A generous donor has already funded half of Emmanuel’s Grade 8 school fees. His GetGo campaign is raising R18,000 towards the remaining half.

We’re thrilled to announce that Capella House has reached its R38,000 fundraising goal to improve wheelchair accessibility at the school! 🎉

The funds will be used to create wider pathways, upgrade bathroom facilities and provide a movable accessibility ramp, making it easier for a learner to move around and take part in school life.

🎓 THEY’VE WORKED FOR THIS MOMENT. NOW LET’S HELP THEM REACH THE FINISH LINE.

This year, 62 young people at Maharishi Invincibility High School will make history as the school’s first-ever matric class.

Years of hard work, determination, challenges and countless lessons have brought them to this important milestone. We’re raising R1.116 million to support the education of all 62 learners approximately R18,000 per learner.

Why does this matter?

The school provides a world-class private education designed to give learners access to opportunities that can shape their future. The school combines the South African CAPS curriculum with Consciousness-Based Education, while focusing on academic excellence, STEM, business, technology, critical thinking and 21st-century skills.

Learners also benefit from small class sizes, personalised learning and enrichment programmes such as robotics, coding, entrepreneurship and financial markets.
We're calling on individuals, businesses, corporate partners, foundations, and everyone who believes in the future of these young people to help us reach our goal and ensure that financial barriers do not stand in the way of this important milestone.

Here's how you can help:

• R900 sponsors 5% of a learner's annual education.
• R9,000 sponsors 50% of a learner's annual education.
• R18,000 fully sponsors one learner's education for the year.
• R180,000 sponsors the education of ten learners.
• R1,116,000 funds the education of all 62 learners in Maharishi Invincibility High School's first-ever matric class.

This campaign is officially complete - a Masiphumelele High School learner now has the tablet she needs to keep studying, thanks to generous support from this community.
