The Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) was established in 2004 to play a strategic role in all areas of teaching and learning at the University of Fort Hare. The TLC is an integrated structure that provides support to academics and students in pursuit of teaching and learning excellence through the provision of a variety of initiatives, programmes and services. The TLC's vision is to develop and p
romote responsive and relevant teaching and learning higher education communities of practice whilst its vision is to be an innovative, well-resources centre with committed and professional staff contributing to teaching and learning excellence through reflective research-based practice and the optimal use of technology. The TLC will realise its vision and mission through:
- strategic leadership and support for academics and students in all aspects of teaching and learning;
- the provision of on-going academic staff support and professional development;
- the provision of student support and academic development;
- collaborative development and review of policies to promote teaching and learning excellence;
- the advancement and use of technology to promote excellence in teaching and learning, research and community engagement;
- nurturing a culture of excellence through the scholarship of teaching and learning; and
- the establishment of partnerships to develop teaching and learning in Higher Education and in the broader community;
