Menopause as an Amplifier (Not the Whole Story)

Menopause is often blamed for everything.

The brain fog. The irritability. The anxiety. The exhaustion. The “I can’t do this anymore” feeling.

And yes—there is a physiological reason it can feel so intense.
As estrogen (and progesterone) shift and reduce, the body’s capacity to buffer stress can change. Sleep gets lighter. Temperature regulation gets messier. Mood can feel less predictable. Your nervous system can feel like it’s running closer to the edge.
📢But here’s what I wish more people understood: Menopause doesn’t always create the problem. It often amplifies what’s already there.

The workload you’ve been powering through. The relationship dynamics you’ve been tolerating. The boundaries you’ve been postponing. The grief you never had time to process. The people-pleasing that used to “work.”

In midlife, the margin disappears. And what’s left is the truth.

So if you’re feeling like menopause is turning the volume up on everything—you’re not imagining it.

It might be your body saying
· We need a different pace.
· We need more support.
· We need to stop negotiating with our own needs.

This isn’t decline. It’s intelligence.

Whatever feels loudest right now—your sleep, your stress, your relationships, or your workload - step in and take a deeper look, its time to pay attention to those signals.

Love this post.

Whether in the classroom, on the pitch, in the boardroom, the garden, or anywhere in between—today we celebrate women everywhere, in every role, at every stage.

International Women’s Day isn’t just about where we are, but how far we’ve come—across generations, through challenges, and into new chapters of growth.

We honour the girls learning to trust their voices, the women leading teams (on and off the field), and the elders whose wisdom guides us forward.

We celebrate the confidence that comes not from perfection, but from showing up, trying again, and supporting each other—win or lose, rain or shine.

Growth as women doesn’t happen in a straight line. It’s built in everyday moments:
💠The courage to try something new, even when it’s hard
💠The resilience to get back up after a setback
💠The confidence to speak up, set boundaries, and lead with heart
💠The generosity to reach back and lift others as we rise

Through every season—classroom, pitch, boardroom, garden, home—we grow stronger together.

Today, and every day, may we honour the journey, celebrate our wins (big and small), and keep building spaces where every woman can thrive.
