We are so proud of Lucas Z and his superb achievements in chess. Congratulations, Lucas!

Bored during lockdown, Cardiff schoolboy Lucas Zheng started playing chess online for fun. He soon realised he had a hidden talent for the ultimate game of strategy.
It all began during lockdown, when Lucas' dad suggested to his son that if he was going to play on screens he could try chess.
Before long, it was more than just a fun hobby for him to help break the boredom of the pandemic. Now, he competes across the globe in international competitions. 👏

Congratulations to our talented choir and orchestra. This evening’s joint concert with was a resounding success. Thank you also goes to our department for organising this brilliant event. .
