In their unit on goods & services, Miss Andersen's and Mrs. Hall's 1st graders researched products and marketed them to kindergarteners from Mrs. Brawner's and Mrs. Evers' classes. Today was the big day when first graders became entrepreneurs and kindergarteners were their customers!

Our dual language first-graders are becoming tiny tech experts! After engineering bridges out of recycled materials, they successfully coded Dash robots to make the trek. Up next: Writing a story to explain why Dash made this journey.

4th Graders have been diving deep into the history of our state to see how technology and agriculture have changed the way we live and work. They created digital advertisements to persuade their audience to value a local product using design tools to combine facts with persuasive media.

PK-5th Grade students and their families are invited to our STEAMy Soup Night on Monday, Dec. 8 from 4:30-6:30 at Broadway Elementary. In addition to a free chili supper, we will have lots of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities. Attendees will also be eligible for door prizes. Please join us!

Kindergarteners and first-graders learned how to use Screencastify, a tool that records a video of the student and their computer screen. The students used it to practice retelling stories. They can view each other's submissions to compare and contrast their retellings. This project was the result of the work our FutureReady cohort members engaged in last summer.

Members of the 2025 FutureReady Cohort worked throughout the summer to explore innovative ways to integrate technology in their classrooms. At their showcase in August, cohort members presented their exciting plans for technology based learning with school board members and administration. Stay tuned for updates throughout the year!

Our 3rd graders enjoyed a STEM presentation from Invention Scouts, a program affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Dan and Ethan demonstrated the four states of matter (solid, liquid, gas, and plasma) with two exciting science experiments, one with grapes in a microwave and another more explosive experiment using dry ice. The 3rd graders were on the edge of their seats for both!
