The 1st Batch of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students successfully conducted their Culminating Activity in celebration of the completion of their 200-hour On-the-Job Training at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub. The activity served as a meaningful gathering to recognize the students’ hard work, dedication, and valuable contributions throughout their training experience in the Agriville site.🎉✨🌱

During the program, Sir Buster A. Ibarbia and Sir Jayson M. Dañas shared their inspiring messages and expressed their appreciation for the initiative, commitment, and creativity demonstrated by the BSTM students. They also played an important role in assisting the students’ development by providing guidance, encouragement, and support throughout their training journey. They acknowledged the students’ significant contribution to the continuous development and improvement of the CBSUA Agriville site, particularly through their active participation in various activities and projects.👏

Through the guidance and assistance of the farm workers, the students were able to engage in hands-on experiences and gain practical knowledge during their stay in Agriville. Their immersion provided them with valuable learning opportunities that enhanced their skills, teamwork, and appreciation for agritourism and community-based development.

The culminating activity not only celebrated the successful completion of their internship hours but also highlighted the memorable experiences, lessons learned, and strong collaboration built among the students, staff, and farm workers of CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub.👏🎊

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Agriville and Learning Hub, in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR Camarines Sur II), conducted a two-day seminar-workshop titled “Empowering Cooperatives: Building Leaders, Strengthening Communities,” anchored on the theme “From Members to Leaders,” on May 20–21, 2026, at the Agriville.

The activity gathered cooperative members and participants for a series of learning sessions focused on leadership and management, strategic planning, parliamentary procedures, business meetings, and cooperative management. The seminar aimed to strengthen the participants’ leadership capabilities, enhance organizational effectiveness, and promote active community participation through cooperative development.

Through interactive discussions and practical activities, the participants gained valuable insights and skills that will help them become more effective leaders and contributors within their respective cooperatives and communities.

The BAT 3A students are elevating their technical expertise through specialized training in ornamental plant propagation at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub. This training focuses on mastering asexual propagation techniques, including cuttings and separation, which are essential for the efficient production of decorative ornamental plants. By practicing the precise separation of natural plant structures and identifying optimal parent plants for rooting cuttings, students bridge theoretical botanical science with real-world nursery management.

Through this hands-on learning experience, students are able to strengthen their practical skills in plant care, propagation, and maintenance while developing patience, precision, and responsibility in handling ornamental crops. The activity also allows them to appreciate the importance of sustainable plant production and the growing role of ornamental horticulture in agriculture and landscape development. 🌱

With the guidance of instructors and farm personnel, the students continue to enhance their knowledge and confidence in applying modern propagation techniques that can contribute to future agricultural and entrepreneurial opportunities.

“Site Development for Sustainable Agritourism”

Students from the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM), particularly those specializing in Agritourism, successfully showcased their innovation and creativity through the completion of their site development activity at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub. The initiative highlighted the practical application of concepts learned from their major Agritourism subjects, allowing students to transform classroom theories into meaningful hands-on experiences through the principle of “learning by doing.”

As part of the completed activity, Agritourism students creatively developed designated site areas that contributed to the enhancement of Agriville’s natural beauty and tourism appeal. Through teamwork, strategic planning, and environmental appreciation, the students demonstrated their skills in site development and sustainable tourism practices while creating spaces that promote eco-friendly and nature-inspired experiences.

The participating groups included Pintaya Dahilayan, Sunny Citrus Park, Aqua Luntian Eco Park, Green Escape Park, and Haven Mini Garden. Each group introduced unique concepts and site improvements designed to create relaxing, visually appealing, and sustainable spaces within Agriville. Their efforts transformed various areas into vibrant attractions that reflect the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainable agritourism development.

With the successful completion of the site development activities, the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub now offers a wider variety of nature-inspired and relaxing spaces for visitors, stakeholders, and community members interested in farm-like experiences, sustainable living, and agritourism activities.

Through this initiative, students not only gained valuable real-world experience in agritourism development but also significantly contributed to the continuous growth of CBSUA Agriville as an emerging destination for learning, recreation, and community engagement.

“Shaping future tourism professionals through real-world development and experiences”

The CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub serves as a dynamic learning space for students. Beyond traditional classroom instruction, the facility provides hands-on experiences through guided farm tours, interactive learning opportunities, and community-based initiatives that expose students to the operations of agri-tourism enterprises and the growing demand for sustainable travel experiences.

As part of the Agriville activities, Agritourism students are immersed in key areas such as farm management, visitor engagement, hospitality services, and event coordination, allowing them to gain practical knowledge and a deeper understanding of tourism operations within an agricultural setting. One of the major highlights of student engagement was the Agri-Café Operation, where students actively served as facilitators, guides, and coordinators. This experiential learning opportunity strengthened their confidence and enhanced their ability to create meaningful and educational tourism programs while developing authentic and memorable visitor experiences rooted in local culture and agriculture.

The activity was organized into three groups, namely Panay Solana, Amianan Bistro, and Hapag ng Timog, composed of 3rd Year AgriTourism students under the College of Economics and Management Department. For three days, the groups operated the Agri-Café facility while showcasing and serving a variety of Filipino delicacies that highlighted the country’s rich and diverse culinary heritage. Their participation demonstrated creativity, teamwork, cultural appreciation, and entrepreneurship while promoting local food tourism and sustainable agri-tourism practices. Through these activities, students were able to develop essential competencies in communication, customer service, and destination management. Skills that are highly valuable in the evolving tourism industry and beneficial in real-world professional settings.

BAT 2C Students Apply Horticultural Skills at CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub

Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT) 2C students of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture are undergoing their practicum at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub, where they apply knowledge gained from previous years of study.

The training focuses on horticultural crop production, allowing students to engage in hands-on activities such as crop establishment, maintenance, and management. Through this experience, they bridge classroom learning with real-world agricultural practices.

The practicum aims to enhance students’ technical skills and prepare them for future roles in the agriculture sector.

CBSUA Agriville Holds 3rd Coconut Nursery Training

The CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub successfully conducted its third training on Coconut Nursery Establishment and Management on April 22, 2026, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), under the Massive Coconut Planting Program (MCPP).

Serving as resource speakers were Mr. Francis B. Boslon, Coconut Development Officer, and Mr. Larry Laniog, Agriculturist II, both from PCA. The training was attended by BAT 2C and 2E students, who will apply their learning through hands-on practicum on the establishment and maintenance of a coconut nursery.
