Joe Nivare Drum Lessons

My former student Josiah performing an original drum solo. He practices a lot and has a classic approach to playing the drum set. Some of his influences include Stewart Copeland, Carl Palmer, and Alex Van Halen, just to name a few.

Student Spotlight:
Sunny running through a syncopation exercise. It takes a lot of skill and practice to manipulate the beat and stay in time. He has been working hard at this while also playing to the click.

This is my former student Anthony performing "Driven to Tears" by The Police with his band . This song is hard enough to play on the drums without singing and using the house kit! They also have great original music, so check them out!

Student Spotlight:
Overhead view of Ben running through 2X2 hand and foot double bass combinations around the drum set, starting with his feet. This exercise can be played with or without accenting cymbals on the bass drums. Ben is alternating between the two options which makes it more difficult. As always, he is starting slow and picking up speed once he gets more comfortable.
