Thanks everyone for all of the birthday love!

Another reminder for friends, colleagues, acquaintances, family & foes:

I have been misgendered A LOT this week, specifically in professional spaces. I know you all have known me most of my life as "she/her" and view me as a woman... that being said I am NON-Binary, do not identify as a woman because I'm not 😉.

It is exhausting and isolating to always correct people especially when it happens multiple times and the "be patient" era has come to an end for me. It's okay to correct yourself in the moment, just quickly move on - no harm done.

We need to normalize using pronouns in greetings, asking folks what their pronouns are off the jump. I know it's a big learning curve, however - trans, non-binary, two-spirit, genderqueer, intersex people abs beyond have always existed regardless of your proximity to them. I know I am the introduction to this for a lot of folks so if you're curious or need more info google helps a lot, s**t it helps me learn how to advocate better for myself!

Words like LADY & GIRL are not acceptable to me when addressing me.

Thank you again for reading and learning along with me, it's hard to constantly have to explain your identity so hopefully this helps.

I can't begin to explain how proud of myself I am - I never allow myself to just pause and reflect on what I've been through, what I've made it through and what I've accomplished. So I'll try to do that today.
