Congratulations to our Student Athletes of the Week Second Varsity Eight!

The Owls rowed to a perfect finish this past weekend at the 87th edition of the Dad Vail Regatta. The 2V8 rowed to two podium finishes on day one of the regattas. A second-place finish in the time trials set the Owls up for a big result in the semi-finals. Temple, led by senior coxswain Eve Keesecker, finished first in the semis in 6:51.44. On day two of the Dad Vails, the 2V8 still held the momentum built from the day prior and continued their success in the water. Keesecker and the Owls secured gold in the grand finals in a time of 6:49.96 which was over two seconds faster than the next fastest boat. This performance helped the Owls win the Women’s Points Trophy, which signifies the best team performance at the Dad Vails of all team boats. This is the first time since 2019 that Temple has taken home that trophy and the second time under head coach Rebecca Grzybowski. Temple and the 2V8 will look to continue their success into next weekend at the inaugural Women’s Rowing MAC Championships.

We had an incredible time hosting our partners at Beyond the Field, A Division of Evolution Financial Group for a powerful session with our Temple Athletics staff.

This wasn’t just a conversation - it was a real opportunity to invest in the people who invest so much into our student-athletes every day.
Together, we explored practical strategies to help our coaches and leadership team build their own financial game plans, while continuing to lead, mentor, and develop at the highest level.
