A large amount of suffering comes from gripping too tightly to things that were never meant to stay the same forever.

Relationships change.
The body changes.
Careers change.
Seasons of life change.
Even our thoughts, emotions, and identities are constantly changing.

Yoga teaches the practice of aparigraha: non grasping.

Aparigraha does not mean you stop caring or detach from life. It means learning how to participate fully in life without trying to control every outcome or cling to every experience.

Many people exhaust themselves trying to hold onto the past, force certainty about the future, or define their worth through possessions, achievements, or external validation.

But peace becomes difficult when the mind is always gripping.

The practice is to give your full effort, appreciate what is here while it is here, and learn when it is time to let go.

Sometimes growth is not about adding more.

Sometimes growth is about loosening the grip.

Much of modern life is spent maintaining an identity.

The way you look.
The roles you play.
The image you present to the world.

But self mastery begins with a different question:

Who are you without any of it?

Without the labels.
Without the achievements.
Without the story you have worked so hard to uphold.

As those layers begin to fall away, life often feels lighter. Not because you have gained something new, but because you are no longer carrying what was never meant to define you.

Not every practice needs to be filled with advanced transitions, complex sequencing, or constant novelty.

There is tremendous power in simplicity.

Repeating foundational movements with awareness builds strength, stability, stamina, and focus in a way that scattered movement often cannot.

Repetition trains the body.
It trains the breath.
It trains the mind.

Over time, the practice becomes less about chasing stimulation and more about creating coherence between how you move, breathe, think, and respond.

Simple does not mean easy.

A focused, repetitive practice can be deeply challenging physically while also cultivating concentration, presence, and inner steadiness.

Mastery is built through consistency, attention, and the willingness to return to the fundamentals again and again.

Let’s rock and roll 🤘

This July 4th weekend, join us in one of the most special retreat environments in North America: the legendary Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. https://www.innerdimensionyoga.com/retreats/community-yoga-wellness-summit-2026/

For more than 50 years, Kripalu has been a gathering place for people seeking growth, healing, connection, and a deeper understanding of yoga beyond the physical practice. Surrounded by over 100 acres of forests, trails, and rolling hills, it is a place designed to help you step away from distractions and reconnect with what matters most.

Over four days, we'll come together as a community for powerful yoga practices, meditation, workshops, fireside conversations, restorative experiences, meaningful connection, and plenty of time to enjoy the beauty of the Berkshires. Alongside me, you'll practice with Lauren Eckstrom, Brittany Lynne Atlas, and Mychal Prieto as we explore how yoga can support not only the body, but the mind, heart, and every dimension of your life.

Spaces are limited and we're down to the final spots.

Hope to see you in the Berkshires this summer. 🙏

Many people spend their lives believing contentment will arrive once they lose the weight, build the business, heal the relationship, buy the house, or finally accomplish the next goal.

InnerDimensionYoga.com/fbt

Yoga teaches the practice of santosha: contentment.

Not complacency or the absence of ambition, but the ability to experience gratitude for the present moment while still continuing to grow.

There is nothing wrong with discipline, goals, or striving to improve yourself. But when every moment becomes consumed by chasing the next achievement, it becomes difficult to appreciate your life as it exists right now.

Santosha reminds us to value the process as much as the outcome.
To appreciate progress without demanding perfection.
To recognize that peace cannot always depend on external circumstances aligning exactly the way we want them to.

A steady mind is not created by building a perfect life.

It is created by learning how to remain present, grateful, and grounded throughout the ups and downs of the life you already have.
