Hi, Iâm Hannah, a dedicated SEND tutor based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I offer tailored tuition for children and young people across both primary and secondary age ranges. Supporting children and young people with special educational needs is my passion! I take time to understand each learnerâs unique strengths and challenges, and enjoy creati
ng fun, engaging, and highly personalised lessons that help your child to grow in confidence and independence. My experience:
I have experience teaching across the curriculum with learners with a wide range of needs, including SLD, MLD, SLCN, SEMH, Autism, PDA, ADHD, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, global developmental delay and more, as well as those with mental health needs such as anxiety, EBSA and attachment difficulties. Originally a secondary English teacher, I went on to teach for five years in a primary special school where I was Literacy lead, then moved back into secondary education, leading and teaching in a resourced provision for four years. As well as SEND tuition, I now work for an educational publishing company, providing advice and resources for SEND teachers across England. My approach:
Bespoke planning: I create highly bespoke planning for each learner, taking into account their strengths and interests, areas of need and learning style. Holistic: I believe that confidence is critical to learning, so I aim to get to know the whole child and work with them to develop their self-belief and independent learning skills. I incorporate their interests, passions and preferred ways of working into my sessions, ensuring that they look forward to their tuition and gain skills that will help them make progress at school, and that they can take forward into all areas of life. Neurodiversity Affirming: I want your child to believe in themself as a learner, and develop an understanding and appreciation of their own strengths and how they learn best. I aim to equip my students with strategies that will help them to learn in any context. Availability and location:
I can offer sessions at a range of times, please get in touch to discuss my current availability. I offer tuition across North Leeds. An additional travel cost may apply for addresses outside of this area. Most sessions take place in the clientâs home, however if you would like to discuss alternative locations or online sessions for your child, please get in touch. Hannahâs Hub is a group of tutors with a wide range of experience in SEND education. Within the Hub we have special school and resource-provision teachers, mental health professionals, SENDCos, functional skills teachers, trauma informed practitioners, communication and language professionals, play-based learning practitioners, and more.

This game makes spellings fun and removes any requirement to sit still, or even to write. It also provides opportunities for making low-stakes mistakes, which builds resilience, and to be able to model and talk about learning methods - an important element of neurodiversity-affirming teaching, supporting children to understand how their own brain works.
