We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting a mini exhibition of the world renown ‘Standing with Giants’ silhouettes during The Victory Show 20th Anniversary event from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st August 2025.

The “Standing with Giants” charity installed a staggering 1,475 silhouettes across the meadow fields of the British Normandy Memorial, France called ‘For Your Tomorrow’ in April 2024 and again this year. The figures reflect the number of servicemen who died under British command on D-Day. The public can see and walk through this installation as part of the commemorations until the middle of September this year.

This is a unique opportunity for visitors to The Victory Show to come and walk through the mini display of life size figures and explore the short documentary videos on their phones via QR codes spread around the installation. The six-foot figures appearing at the Victory Show are copies of the many installed in France. They are made from recycled advertising boarding, all cut out and painted by hand by volunteers. A few will be mounted on plinths that are surrounded by poppies. Each knitted by the Woman’s Institute who, nationally, made over 31,000 for the Normandy display.

Dan Barton the Standing with Giants founder said, “Standing with Giants is so we remember and pay tribute to those who have fallen, and because of them we can live the lives we have today. Our installations are a great way of using art to do this. We call our silhouettes ’Giants’ due to the enormity of their sacrifice, so that others can have their freedom”

Visitors toThe Victory Show can have their pictures taken with the figures and chat with the Standing with Giants volunteers about the D Day tribute and see the many images of the installation in France.
