Khyber Medical University Institute of Medical Sciences Kohat was conceived and realized by Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST). On the directions of the then Chancellor KMU / Governor KPK, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, the KMU syndicate took a bold decision in 2005 to start the first ever Institute of Medical Sciences. 17th Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa syndicate meeting was held on 15th April 2015.
In the meeting Khyber Medical University Peshawar, has decided to upgrade various posts.The upgraded posts included section in-charge from BPS-16 to 17, office assistant-cum-computer operator from BPS-14 to 16, senior clerk from BPS-9 to 14 and junior clerk from BPS-07 to 11.
For KIMS various posts like Gynae, Eye Prof, Associate Peads, Surgery etc were approved.
Start of work on KIMS building, KIDS funding and Convocation KMU was also discussed in the syndicate meeting.
