Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today isn’t about a long weekend, cookouts, or sales. It’s about remembering.

For those of us who served, Memorial Day carries names, faces, memories, and moments that never leave us. Friends we lost during wartime. Brothers and sisters we’ve lost after coming home. People who laughed beside us, fought beside us, and left a mark on our lives forever.

Freedom has a cost. Some paid it all. Others carried battles long after the war ended. Today we honor every one of them.

Take a moment today. Remember the fallen. Say their names. Share their stories. Hold your loved ones close.

To those no longer with us — you are missed, remembered, and never forgotten.

Mindset Monday.

First off… our apologies for being quiet the past few weeks. Life gets busy. Work piles up. Family needs attention. Missions change. But one thing remains the same:

The mindset never stops.

Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is take care of your people, reset your focus, and get back to work with purpose.

At Arden Defense, we’ve never been about chasing algorithms or posting just to post. We’re about building capable people. Strong families. Prepared citizens. Men and women who understand that mindset comes before skill… and skill comes before luck.

So here’s your reminder this Monday:

Stay disciplined when motivation fades.
Stay alert when the world gets comfortable.
Stay dangerous enough to protect what matters… but wise enough to avoid the fight whenever possible.

Check your gear.
Check your plans.
Check on your people.

And most importantly… check your mindset.

NRA Houston recap:

• Took 3 photos total like absolute liabilities
• Got tazed with a glove for “educational purposes” ⚡️ (education received)
• Secured a rare SilencerCo Lego like it’s black market inventory
• Reconnected with Andy’s Marine buddies—immediate chaos, zero maturity regained
• Stumbled into Fleet Week activities like we were supposed to be there
• Ate everything in sight like it was our last meal before deployment
• Hydrated exclusively with caffeine and questionable life choices

Good people, zero sleep, and just enough bad decisions to keep it interesting.

No regrets. Minimal evidence. Maximum stories.

Would run it back immediately.

ROAD TO HOUSTON

Mission: leave after work and act like everything is under control.

Update: it wasn’t.

Abbie hit sleep mode immediately. No hesitation. No backup plan. Just gone.

Storms forced a tactical stop at WinStar World Casino and Resort. Not scheduled. Still survived.

Fuel rotation:
☕ Allsups burritos (questionable decisions, reliable results)
🦫 Buc-ee’s (obviously)

Morning reset included a Czech bakery stop because discipline is important in its own way.

Now rolling toward Houston.

Gunny’s Mindset Monday:

Road trips aren’t just about the destination—they’re a mindset check.

This week we’re rolling from Wichita to Houston for the NRA Annual Meeting. Long miles. Unknown variables. Different environments. That’s not a vacation… that’s an opportunity to stay switched on.

Here’s the reality:
Complacency doesn’t take road trips off.

Every gas station stop.
Every rest area.
Every hotel hallway.
Every parking lot.

Those are transitional spaces—where people get comfortable, distracted, and predictable.

Don’t be that person.

Stay ahead of the moment:
• Fuel up early—don’t run yourself into bad areas out of necessity
• Park with intention—position matters
• Keep your head up and eyes working—not buried in your phone
• Know your exits wherever you stop
• Trust your gut—if something feels off, it is

If you’re carrying a concealed firearm, that responsibility goes even further.
Know the laws—not just where you live, but every state you’re traveling through and your final destination.
Where you can carry. Where you can’t. Duty to inform. Vehicle storage. Use of force standards.

Ignorance isn’t a defense—it’s a liability.

And most importantly—take care of your people.
Whether it’s your family or your team, you’re responsible for more than just yourself.

This isn’t about paranoia.
It’s about preparedness.

We don’t rise to the occasion—we fall back on our level of training and awareness.

Travel smart. Move with purpose. Stay ready.

WARNING ORDER: The National Rifle Association Annual Meeting is almost here.

Mission brief was simple: stay disciplined, stay focused, don’t get distracted.
We heard that… and immediately started pre-loading coffee and bad financial decisions. ☕💸🫡

Pre-mission status: locked in, slightly unhinged, and fully expecting to call half the floor “necessary training research.”
