The final afternoon of CSM Fest '26 was a celebration not only of friendship and camaraderie but also of academic excellence.

As students, faculty, and staff gathered for the closing activities, we proudly recognized the Dean's Listers, Chancellor's Listers, and President's Listers for the First Semester of AY 2025–2026. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence serve as an inspiration to the entire College of Science and Mathematics community.

The afternoon was filled with meaningful interactions, shared laughter, and moments of recognition that reminded us of what CSM stands for—excellence, unity, and growth.

As the curtains close on the first-ever CSM Fest, we celebrate not only the achievements of our outstanding students but also the friendships, memories, and connections forged throughout this remarkable journey.

The final day of CSM Fest '26 opened with a spectacular showcase of talent, creativity, and passion through the Cultural Competitions.

Students captivated the audience with powerful singing performances, electrifying modern dance routines, and entertaining "Wannabe" acts, where participants stepped into the shoes of their favorite artists and brought iconic performances to life on stage.

The morning was filled with music, movement, and unforgettable moments, highlighting the confidence, artistry, and vibrant spirit of the CSM community. Each performance was a celebration of self-expression and the diverse talents that make our college truly exceptional.

As the curtains rise on the final day of our first-ever CSM Fest, we celebrate not only competition but also the creativity and camaraderie that unite us all.

May 31, 2026 — Day 2 of CSM Fest '26: Where Minds Competed and Childhood Memories Came Alive.

The second day of CSM Fest '26 showcased the perfect balance between intellect and fun. The morning was filled with academic competitions, where students demonstrated their knowledge, critical thinking, and passion for learning across various disciplines.

As the sun climbed higher, the atmosphere shifted from competitive to nostalgic as participants took part in classic childhood games. Laughter echoed across the grounds as students relived cherished memories, proving that learning and fun can go hand in hand.

From challenging the mind to celebrating the joy of simple games, Day 2 reminded us that the college experience is not only about academic excellence but also about building friendships, creating memories, and embracing the spirit of community.

A New Tradition Begins.

May 30, 2026 marks a historic moment for the College of Science and Mathematics as we proudly celebrate the first-ever CSM Fest.

From Capitol Gymnasium to the MSU-Sulu Campus Field, students, faculty, and staff came together in a vibrant parade to open what will be a three-day journey of curiosity, discovery, and camaraderie.

More than just the start of an event, today marks the beginning of a tradition—one that celebrates the spirit of science, mathematics, and the people who dare to explore beyond the ordinary.

As the banners rise and the adventure unfolds, we look forward to the memories, friendships, and achievements that will define this inaugural celebration.

The first chapter of the first-ever CSM Fest has officially begun.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱𝗶, 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱

Mar-Udzna A. Sawadi, an Instructor I from the College of Science and Mathematics and Dermayna A. Jamar, also an Instructor I from the Senior High School Department attended the 2nd International Learning Exchange for the Diploma in Women, Peace and Security at multiple peace and academic sites in Thailand from March 25 to April 1, 2026.

These peace and academic sites included Bangkok, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, Pattani, and Yala, with institutional engagements featuring Thammasat University, Prince of Songkla University, civil society leaders, women peacebuilders, youth networks, and community-based WPS actors.

Their participation in this international exposure program, which featured academic exchanges, policy dialogues, and field engagements on women’s empowerment, peacebuilding, and gender-based violence, is made possible through the support of Chancellor Prof. Nagder J. Abdurahman, Ed.D. This initiative reflects the university's strong commitment to professional development while advancing global goals on quality education, gender equality, and peacebuilding.

This international engagement directly advances the university's contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). By immersing faculty members in cross-border academic exchanges, MSU-Sulu promotes inclusive learning environments and strengthens local expertise in the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) framework. Furthermore, this initiative aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), as the knowledge gained from Thailand’s field experiences will be integrated into the university’s peacebuilding efforts, ensuring that MSU-Sulu remains a pivotal institution in promoting a culture of peace and resilient communities in the region.

Through this engagement, MSU-Sulu continues to move forward in its vision of becoming a world class university by 2030.

📢 Pride of the College of Science and Mathematics

The College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) proudly congratulates Assit. Prof. IV Jeckson M. Yusop and Benladin A. Adam for their oral presentations during the 2nd International Agri-Life and Bioresource Sciences Symposium held on February 27, 2026, at the SAFAD Theater, University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus, Cebu City, Philippines.

Their research presentations highlighted valuable scientific contributions:

• Jeckson M. Yusop – “Polychaetea (Annelida) of Sulu Archipelago, Southern Philippines.”

• Benladin A. Adam – “Agronomic Effectiveness of Home Fermented Fish Hydrolysate (Decapterus macrosoma) as a Sustainable Fertilizer on the Vegetative Growth and Fruit Productivity of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum).”

CSM is truly proud of their achievements and dedication to advancing research and knowledge. We also extend our sincere gratitude to the administration, especially our very own Chancellor, Nagder J. Abdurahman, for his continuous support and guidance.
