Calling all Delineation Detectives 🔍 This past Tuesday, in the UK, the To***co and Vapes Bill passed its final parliamentary stage. This bill establishes a lifelong ban on the sale of ci******es to anyone born on or after January 1, 2009. The bill aims to create the first "smoke-free generation" in the UK, and eventually save around 80,000 lives a year that typically come from to***co-related deaths. "The bill includes other provisions which focus on making va**ng less attractive and accessible to children and young people, strengthening smoke-free restrictions, and strengthening enforcement around the sale of to***co and va**ng products-" House of Commons Library. This does not affect current adult smokers, though the legal age to be able to buy to***co products will increase every year beginning next year.
In looking at the attached charts for the passing of the bill (whole sign and Placidus have been provided), please note that we DO NOT have an exact time on when the bill was passed, so ignore the houses. Let us know in the comments if you think this bill will have long-lasting effects and if you think it will or will not be successful.
