In observance of this day, our office in Austin is closed on Monday, February 16th. We will reopen for regular business hours, Tuesday, February 17th, 2026.

During Black History Month, we pause to honor the African American educators whose courage, resilience, and dedication transformed classrooms into places of opportunity—often in the face of inequality and injustice.

Many of our retired educators lived this history firsthand. They taught when resources were scarce, expectations were unequal, and the promise of education was both a hope and a battleground. Yet, they persevered—believing deeply in the power of learning to uplift individuals, families, and entire communities.

At TRTA, we honor those who used education not only to teach lessons, but to open doors, challenge barriers, and inspire generations. Your legacy lives on in every student you have reached and every life you have helped shape.
