Multi-word verbs are verbs which consist of a verb and one or two particles or prepositions (e.g. up, over, in, down). There are three types of multi-word verbs: phrasal verbs, prepositional verbs and phrasal-prepositional verbs. Sometimes, the name ‘phrasal verb’ is used to refer to all three types.

(English Translation below) I.U. Study Group đã được thành lập tại Đại Học Quốc Tế - Đại Học Quốc Gia Thành Phố Hồ Chí Minh. Tên của nhóm học thuật là I.U. Study Group bởi vì nhóm đã được thành lập ở International University vào tháng 8 năm 2012.

Trong tên nhóm có 2 chữ (I và U) ở phía trước để nhấn mạnh là câu lạc bộ học thuật nằm trong International University. Khoảng hơn 70 % các trường đại học trong hệ thống Đại Học Quốc Gia đều có câu lạc bộ học thuật và nhiều tên câu lạc bộ khác nhau.

Đại Học Bách Khoa có 1 câu lạc bô về công nghệ với mục đích hướng dẫn các bạn sinh viên học hỏi thêm kiến thức về công nghệ, và ứng dụng kỹ thuật trong đời sống.

Đại Học Khoa Học Tự Nhiên có câu lạc bộ học thuật giúp sinh viên từ năm 1 và năm 2, học cách làm việc nhóm. Chia sẻ kiến thức là chìa khóa vàng để giúp một nhóm sinh viên cải thiện điểm số trong kỳ thi giữa kỳ và cuối kỳ.

Tinh thần đồng đội và làm việc nhóm được khuyến khích từ các anh/ chị năm 3 và năm cuối. Sau đó, sinh viên năm 1 phải quán triệt tư tưởng, đăng ký thành viên, và lập danh sách nhóm học tập. Các nhóm thi đua với nhau để cải thiện điệm số.

Cuối năm, nhóm nào có (tổng điểm số của tất cả thành viên / số thành viên trong nhóm) cao thì sẽ được tuyên dương và khen thưởng.

I.U. Study Group was established at International University - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The title of the academic group is I.U. Study Group because it was created at International University in August 2012. In the group name, there were two letters which are 'I' and 'U'. These letters were utilized to emphasize that the academic group was established at International University (IU).

About more than 70% of national universities have academic clubs with different names. For example, Bach Khoa University (University of Technology) has a technology club with the purpose of giving instructions for all students to learn more about technology and to apply technology in life.

The University of Natural Sciences has an academic club that has supported freshmen and second-year students to learn how to work in groups.

Sharing knowledge is a golden key to helping a group of students improve their midterm and final exam scores. Teamwork and teamwork are encouraged from several third-year students.

After that, 1st-year students have to master the idea, register group members, and make a list of all study groups. Each team that competes with each other teams to improve grades in midterm and final exams.

In December, a group with the highest grade (Total Grade of All Members / Number of Team Members) will receive a reward.

In 2018, I.U. Study Group organized a meeting for Ms. Lily to meet Mr. Andrew Folker who is a British teacher to improve her vocabulary, pronunciation, and communication skills.

After the meeting, Ms. Lily gained more confidence in basic English conversation. She learned the meaning of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I.U. Study Group was grateful that Mr. Andrew Folker helped us to teach students whenever he comes to Vietnam. Thank you very much for your support.
