Prof. Sivadath Madhu Menon, Professor at Dhirubhai Ambani University School of Law, attended the India Aircraft Leasing & Financing Summit 2.0 organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), and FICCI at GIFT City, Gujarat.

During the event, Prof. Menon also interacted with Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

The gathering brought together aviation leaders, policymakers, financial institutions, leasing companies, regulators, and global industry stakeholders to deliberate on the future of aircraft leasing, aviation finance, and the expanding role of GIFT IFSC as an emerging international hub for aviation financing.

Key discussions focused on strengthening India’s domestic leasing ecosystem, improving financing capabilities, enhancing regulatory certainty, and creating long-term opportunities for investment and growth within the aviation sector.

With India projected to witness significant expansion in its commercial aircraft fleet over the coming decade, the discussions reflected the country’s growing importance in the global aviation and aircraft financing landscape.

Major announcements from leading aviation players including Air India, IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Star Air further highlighted the momentum within India’s aviation ecosystem.

The School of Law, Dhirubhai Ambani University presents the International Research and Industry Learning Tour as part of its the academic curriculum of LL.M. in Construction Law, Contracts & Arbitration.

As part of the Construction Law vertical, the LL.M. academic cohort students will undertake an immersive international tour to London from June 8 to 12, 2026, engaging with leading global institutions and industry experts.

The London experience features curated industry- academia sessions with Kroll, Clyde & Co., Osborne Clarke, and Accuracy, offering practical insights into construction law, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

This international tour is designed to integrate academic learning with real-world global practice.

The One-Day Conference on AI Governance: Ethics, Data Protection and Legal Framework was successfully hosted by School of Law - Dhirubhai Ambani University, in collaboration with Deccan Centre for International Relations and IITM Pravartak Professional Certificate Programme AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, with support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

We were honoured by the presence of S Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, whose leadership continues to shape India’s digital and AI governance ecosystem, and Prof. Balaraman Ravindran, whose work at IIT Madras and Centre For Responsible AI (CeRAI) is at the forefront of responsible AI research and innovation.

A special address by Vanitha Venugopal, CEO of Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (iTNT), enriched the discussions drawing from her extensive leadership experience, including her previous role at Dell, and her work in driving deep-tech and innovation ecosystems.

We also acknowledge the invaluable guidance of Prof (Dr) Avinash Dadhich and Amb. T. S. Tirumurti, whose contributions continue to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue across law, policy, and global governance.

The conference brought together leading voices across academia, industry, and government to advance conversations on ethical, inclusive, and accountable AI frameworks.

The School of Law - Dhirubhai Ambani University, in collaboration with Clyde & Co. and the Society of Construction Law - Mumbai, successfully convened a practitioner led conference on infrastructure disputes, bringing together legal strategy and behavioural insights in one room from various jurisdictions including Europe, Middle East, Africa, India, North America, and Asia Pacific.

The discussion centred on two key sessions:
• Global trends and legal best practice - international perspectives on managing and avoiding construction disputes

• Behavioural and cultural aspects on international disputes - navigating and
mitigating behaviours that generate disputes on large project

With strong international perspectives, the session offered practical insights on dispute avoidance, claims management, and effective resolution strategies.

He is a member of the Government of India’s Advisory Group on AI for India Specific Regulatory Framework and the AI Advisory Council of the AI for India 2030 initiative of the World Economic Forum. He represents India on the Expert Advisory Panel to the UK’s State of the Science Report on Advanced AI Safety. He is serving as a Global Commissioner in the Responsible AI for Military Applications (REAIM) council.

With over three decades of experience in reinforcement learning and AI, he has been at the forefront of shaping India’s research and policy landscape in responsible AI. As the founding head of multiple leading AI institutions at IIT Madras, his work bridges deep technical innovation with governance, ethics, and real-world deployment.
