The Global Health course 2026 has started this week!

Students are diving into pressing global health challenges and learning how to design tools that capture people’s perspectives, attitudes, behaviors, values, and knowledge across diverse contexts around the world.

Today, we were honored to welcome Dr. Goto, Professor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Fukushima Medical University, who gave an inspiring lecture on health literacy and its critical role in shaping healthier societies.

Through hands-on exercises, including a hospital exploration, students stepped beyond the classroom to experience how health systems operate in real life and how patients navigate care.

Exciting learning ahead as students continue to engage with global health in action!

On Days 2–4, we had twelve engaging sessions on health economics, where we learned how to evaluate the cost and utility of healthcare system components, policies, programs, and drugs. The sessions were led by Shehzad Ali, Associate Professor at Western University and Canada Research Chair in Public Health Economics, an internationally recognized expert in economic evaluation and health policy research.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Ali for his engaging sessions and generous sharing of knowledge!

We’ve just concluded one-week Health System and Management course.

A heartfelt thank to Prof. Storey to teach us about the whole process of designing to evaluating health communiction and guide the students' enthusiastic projects!

We also thank Dr. Aiperi to provide us local and expertise knowlege about air pollution in Kyrgzstan!

We were honored to welcome Professor Brian Schwartz, a world-leading expert in environmental health from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, to teach Environmental Planetary Health. His lectures covered a broad range of critical environmental topics, including global environmental change, the built environment, PFAS, and plastics.

It was an intellectually intensive course that not only illuminated the challenges ahead, but also showcased the wealth of scientific knowledge and societal progress achieved thus far. Professor Schwartz left us with a profound sense of stewardship—and hope—that these pressing issues can and must be addressed, starting now.
