Quick like a ninja. Straight like a skewer.
Most swimmers lose their rhythm because their breath is slow, late, or their whole body tilts to grab it. Here’s the fix:
🥷 Breathe quick — like a ninja. Don’t linger.
🍢 Stay on the skewer — roll to breathe, but keep everything in one straight, strong line. Head, hips, toes — aligned.
When your breath is fast and your body stays long through the rotation, it stops breaking your rhythm and you’ll feel smoother.

👀 Freestyle beginners — where are you looking? 🏊
One of the easiest ways to smoother freestyle is to check your head position. Keep your eyes on the floor and lengthen through the neck — this helps your body find that horizontal line in the water and cuts down on drag.
Think of it like this: imagine a rope coming out the top of your head, pulling you straight to the end of the pool. That’s the position you’re after. ✨
It takes some getting used to, and that’s completely normal — so trust the process and be patient with yourself. Focus on relaxing the neck and letting your gaze drop down to the bottom of the pool.
Small adjustment, big difference. 💧
