Ladies, Help Me Understand
First, let me say this clearly :I’m not triggered by what other women wear. I felt confident and elegant in my own swimsuit-dress ,which covers my bikini line and behind. That’s simply who I am. I prefer modesty, and I carry it with pride.
If we’re talking about Ibiza, or a beach club for grown-ups -I completely understand. That’s the setting for more daring swimwear.
But what I truly can’t understand is seeing mums at a family water park, surrounded by children ,walking around in thong swimsuits, bending, sliding, running, with bare cheeks on display. And it wasn’t just one ,there were quite a handful dressed this way. Picture this: mum in thong climbing the stairs up to the slides, with other parents and children queued right behind her. From that angle, there is nothing left to the imagination -just bare cheeks at eye level for whoever happened to be next in line. In a family space, surrounded by kids, that sight feels completely out of place.
As an etiquette instructor, I believe elegance isn’t only about how we look - it’s about respect for context, and in family spaces, that means modesty.
So, ladies who choose this style in such settings, I’m asking politely: could you share your perspective and help us understand ?What’s the reasoning behind wearing something so revealing around families? Just don’t say it’s due to comfort. Comfort has little to do with it -these styles are chosen for other reasons entirely, and we shouldn’t pretend otherwise.
