Ice Age Floods Institute Telling the incredible story of the Ice Age Floods that roared across the Pacific NW landscape, massively reshaping it during the last Ice Ages.

The Ice Age Floods Institute (IAFI) is an educational nonprofit founded in 1995 to promote research and education about the Ice Age Floods story. IAFI is recognized as the official authority on the Ice Age Floods, providing accurate, sciene-based advice, information, and education to its members, stakeholders, and the public. IAFI is a strong organization with enthusiastic leadership and a long s

erving dedicated Board of Directors, and a number of regional chapters operating at the local level to offer monthly opportunities for learning about the Ice Age Floods. The organization was instrumental in the Federal designation legislation passed in 2009, authorizing the National Park Service to establish the Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail (IAFNGT). This significant milestone elevates the IAFI scope of work as primary private sector partner in development and implementation of the Trail management plan. IAFI Priorities include:
Expand our role in the education and advocacy of the ‘floods story’. Expand Institute collaboration in development of interpretive projects. Proactively market the Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail experience. Develop the organization and Trail brand. Strengthen the Institute administratively and financially. Form appropriate partnerships and sponsorships with ensuing revenue generation.
