Session 9 of 24 - Fishing With Veterans, working alongside Anxious Minds.

The aim of this weeks session was to focus on getting to grips with overhead casting. However due to the unexpected high winds it made things very tasking for the guys, but they took all the instructions and worked hard at it. The windy conditions also pushed the fish deeper in the water so we had to work out the depth in which the fish were feeding. 3 out of 4 guys managed to hook into fish, however the fish won all 3 battles. But that's fishing and we go again next week.

P.s. I arrived earlier than normal, so I had a quick 20mins on the lake before the guys arrived. Luckily enough I managed to land a lovely Rainbow Trout, theres photos for proof. 😅

As always a big thankyou to Thrunton Long Crag Trout Fishery for the use of their facilities and a big thankyou to Sport England for funding these sessions, without it this wouldn't be possible.

Session 8 of 24 - Fishing With Veterans, working alongside Anxious Minds .

Stunning weather for this session, although those winds did make things difficult for the anglers. Fish are now becoming very selective on what they choose to feed on, as theres a non stop supply of flies right now. Takes becoming less, so you have to make them count when they happen. Fortunate for one of our anglers, after 6 attempts, he finally hooked into his first trout since coming on the sessions. Making it now, every angler who has attended these sessions has caught a fish on the fly. Huge congratulations to Andy on landing the rainbow trout, always great to see the rods bent. 👌🏻

As always, I'd like to thank Thrunton Long Crag Trout Fishery for the use of their top facilities and to Sport England who fund these sessions, without you this wouldnt be possible.
