PRITECAM Opens Applications for 2027 Intake

The Private Technical Colleges Association of Malawi (PRITECAM), in partnership with TEVETA, has opened applications for the 2027 intake in private technical colleges across Malawi.

The programme offers government-sponsored training opportunities designed to equip young people with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Interested applicants can obtain forms from TEVETA Regional Service Centres, District Labour Offices, and participating private technical colleges. Women and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Application Fee: MWK 10,000 (Non-refundable)
Deadline: 30 September 2026

PAINTING AND DECORATION

This trade is about both protection and aesthetics. It involves more than just applying color to a wall; it is a technical process that includes:

1. Surface Preparation:
Cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and priming surfaces to ensure durability.

2. Surface Finishing:
Applying paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings to various materials (wood, metal, concrete).

3. Aesthetics:
Applying specialized finishes, wallpapers, and textures to enhance the visual appeal of interior and exterior spaces.

4. Screen Printing:
A specialized process of transferring ink onto surfaces (like fabric, wood, or metal) through a mesh screen, essential for signage, custom apparel, and personalized decor items.

GENERAL FITTING
General fitting (often related to bench fitting or mechanical fitting) is a precision-based trade focused on assembly, maintenance, and repair.

1. Fabrication:
Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling components to build structures or equipment.

2. Maintenance:
Troubleshooting mechanical parts, adjusting tolerances, and ensuring that machinery or installed fixtures are operating safely and correctly.

3. Precision:
Working with hand tools and power tools to ensure parts fit together with high accuracy.
