Last Day of School fun before summer for our afternoon session at Northwood Preschool! May Play Day was the perfect way to kick off Summer 2026. Students enjoyed a day filled with laughter, sunshine, and fun as they celebrated the end of a wonderful school year.

We are so grateful for our Northwood families and wish you a summer filled with sunshine, happiness, adventure, and countless special memories. Have a safe and fun-filled summer! ☀️🌈💛

Last Day of School fun at Northwood Preschool! Our morning session had an amazing time celebrating May Play Day today. It was a day full of sunshine, warm weather, bubbles, chalk, water fun, and bounce houses. Smiles and laughter filled the playground as we celebrated an incredible school year together.

Thank you to all of our Northwood families for a wonderful year. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer!

A big thank you to Ames Morning Rotary for recognizing the work that Northwood Preschool does for all of our students. We truly appreciate the extra love and support as we prepare for May Play Day and our last days of school.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we honor and remember.

Today, the Ames Community School District pays tribute to the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten. May we take this day to reflect, remember, and express our heartfelt gratitude.

We thank you for your service.

All Ames Community School District buildings will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
We honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

Schools and the district office will reopen on Tuesday, May 26, and classes will resume for students.

The final days of the school year are flying by, and summer break is just around the corner! Before backpacks are tucked away and routines shift, please take a moment to register your student for the 2026–2027 school year.

Registration helps ensure your family stays connected and receives important summer updates, back-to-school information, and reminders as we prepare for another great year together.

Northwood Preschool teachers recently participated in a panel for Ames Middle School 8th grade students during Career Discovery Day!

We loved sharing our passion for the Littlest of Little Cyclones and giving students a glimpse into what we do every day at Northwood Preschool. Thank you to AMS for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful experience! 🧡🖤

A huge thank you to Gale Gehling, a local realtor at Keller Williams, for taking the time to collect books for kids in our community! Today, Northwood Preschool’s Little Free Library benefited from all of her hard work and generosity.

Northwood Preschool Teachers and Staff were truly SPOILED by our amazing Northwood PTO last week during Staff Appreciation Week! From a delicious S’mores Bar and Taco Bar to a beautiful Bloom Bar, relaxing Chair Massages, and a
fun Trail Mix Bar, each day was filled with thoughtful surprises and kindness.

We are incredibly lucky to have a PTO that cares so deeply about our staff and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel appreciated and valued. Thank you, Northwood PTO, for all you do to support our school community! 💛🖤
