It's Time to Vote!

Hi everyone, we hope you are all staying well in the ongoing lock down period.

This is a notice to let Cathsoc members know that the May By-Elections for committee positions are now open. From the 18th - 22nd May elections for the Treasurer and Wellbeing and Inclusion Ambassador positions will be open and all society members are eligible to vote.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hello everyone,

We have tried to leave this as late as possible to see what the situation would be but unfortunately it is not good news. The on campus mass as well as the discussion afterwards will not be taking place today. This is of course because of the possible health risks to both the priest and our society members thanks to COVID-19.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Happy Saint David’s Day! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Saint David's Day is the feast day of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, and falls on 1 March, the date of Saint David's death in 589 AD.

The feast has been regularly celebrated since the canonisation of David in the 12th century, by Pope Callixtus II, though it is not a national holiday in the UK.

🥞 Shrove Tuesday Social: Pancake Party! 🥞

It was such a lovely social where people were able to come together before lent and try out some delicious home-made pancakes - ranging from French to little Dutch styles 😋🍴

✨ TODAY IS ASH WEDNESDAY ✨

🙏🏼 Ash Wednesday is a Christian holy day of prayer and fasting. It is preceded by Shrove Tuesday and falls on the first day of Lent, the six weeks of penitence before Easter.

✝️ Ash Wednesday derives its name from the placing of repentance ashes on the foreheads of participants to either the words "Repent, and believe in the Gospel" or the dictum "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return."

⛪️ Mass at Holy Cross Priory Church is at 6:10pm (with distribution of ashes)
