CeADARโs fully funded EDIH for AI Services provided Cork County Council (CCC) with access to AI advisory expertise, proof of concept scoping and prototyping support, helping to develop a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Bot for their housing department.
Over the course of the project the initial idea of a chatbot for affordable housing schemes evolved into a tool designed to help citizens access information on a wider range of services, assisting them to navigate the CCC website to find the information they needed.

This event marked the official opening of the CloudCIX Boole Supercomputer, Irelandโs first liquid-cooled NVIDIA B200 supercomputer. The launch was followed by a series of panel discussions exploring some of the most pressing questions facing organisations today:
๐ท Data sovereignty and the future of AI in Ireland.
๐ท Where workloads should live across cloud.
๐ท Hybrid, co-location and in-house models.
๐ท How to power high-impact research and innovation.
๐ท What it really takes to move from AI quick-starts to scalable deployment.
Laura Plunkett, EDIH Programme Manager at CeADAR, took part in the AI Quick-Start to Scaling panel, outlining the role of the EDIH network in guiding Irish enterprises through that journey, from early exploration, to testing, skills development and practical application.
Looking ahead, Harry Nguyen (University College Cork) shared insights on agentic AI and where this next wave of capability is heading.
These discussions were brought to life through afternoon hands-on demonstrations from CloudCIXโs workbench showing how customers can develop their own RAG-based chatbots (Maria Walsh), to a bioinformatics demo showcasing what becomes possible with access to next generation compute power (Stephen Stockdale).
It was also great to have Chrys Ngwa (PhD) from ENTIRE EDIH Ireland in attendance, reinforcing how collaboration across EDIHs enables more efficient routing of Irish enterprises to the right ecosystem supports.
A timely reminder too from James Leigh R&D Tax Solutions that innovation doesnโt end with deployment, but that maximising returns on innovation investment is a critical piece of the puzzle for enterprises.
A sincere thank you to AlloComp and CloudCIX for the invitation โ and in particular to Jerry Sweeney, Kasia Zabinska and Niall Smith for putting on such a brilliant event.
