As stated in the Vinaya text by Buddha Sakiyamuni; 'Bhikshus well versed in three scriptural collections should do preaching before the Pravarana ceremony day for the Summer Retreat'. With this profound urge the Sermon/preaching Ceremony was initiated and practiced wherever the Sangha members observe Summer retreat. Accordingly, the Sangha members of Dorden Tash*thang Buddhist University has observed 8th Summer retreat presided by Khenpo Ngawang Sonam Tshuelthrim. Eventually, the final day preaching ceremony has celebrated in gratitude for the patrons who offered meal and other necessities during the summer retreat. The preachings were Buddha's profound dharmas in various subjects such as refuge taking, loving kindness, compassion, Boddhicitta, and so on. These are the few glimpses of the traditional Sermon Ceremony happened in Dorden Tash*thang Buddhist University from 8am until 9pm.

The Dorden Tash*thang Buddhist University expresses profound sorrow at the passing of two venerable spiritual masters: His Eminence Ngawang Tenzin, former Dorji Lopen, and the esteemed Lam Neten of Tsirang Rabdey.

In tribute, the Khenpos and monks convened a prayer ceremony today, offering one thousand butter lamps (Tong Marmey) with prayers for the masters' peaceful transition toward enlightenment.

The University extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, disciples, and all affected. May the merit of these offerings support both masters on their journey to ultimate awakening.

May their wisdom and compassion continue to inspire generations.
