When local farmers and local business partner with and support a Culinary arts program some amazing things happen. First I would like to give a shout out to F&L market @ 2517 memorial avenue Lynchburg Va, Todd Ramsey the owner and Thomas Carter (TC) the market manager and master butcher for giving us their time and resources and Carver family farms for their donation of product that made this special.
These two entities/groups of people gave of their time, energy and resources so the Amherst county HS Culinary arts program could hold a butchering demonstration of a young hog. TC together with the culinary arts instructor, Chef Tommy Phillips walked through the breaking down of a whole hog. What an experience for the students!!!
