***Caterpillar Update***

🦋 They are almost Butterflies!!! 🦋

🦋 We can’t wait to meet them!!

🦋 And guess what …. Each student will get a chance to take the butterflies home for one overnight to practice projecting loving energy to them and gently caring for them.

🦋 Parents can send us some photos of what they did at your home and we can show their class during Circle Time!

🦋 So exciting. Our beautiful butterflies love when we are being super gentle with them. And if they get scared we send them love from our Hearts 💕

🦋 And they enjoy sugar and water mixed together along with some fruits.

🦋 Once each student has had one night with our butterflies we will release them to world so they can go make friends with other butterflies.

Thanks to for organising the Ice Cream Van to come and visit and inviting us along to be part of it.

All month we were practicing tasting ice pops & ice cream to help cool our body temperature on the hot days.

On Friday we got to practice waiting in a queue, ordering our ice creams & treats, paying the ice cream man for them.

It was such a great experience. Some used the PECs Choice Board to pick their favourites!!

Just got a very special delivery!! I’ll be looking after these for the Bank Holiday Weekend and can’t wait to introduce them to our Students.

It’s really important that we learn to take care of the Animal Kingdom and give them lots of Love. So we shall start with these … and hope they make it into beautiful Butterflies 🦋

We are so proud of how well our students are doing with their Fun Food Program.

Every week our wonderful teachers have fab new Sensory Trays for play, tasting and lovely fun cooking activities. And they are just responding so well to it.

Creating safe alternatives to play with is so important if your child tends to eat unsafe non foods items.
So for example all our play dough is made fresh every week, sand can be made from Cheerios blended up, if they like eating grass we have parsley and other herbs available in the classroom.

Some Autistic/Neurodivergent children have very restricted or limited amount of foods they can tolerate but if we find creative ways to interact with different types of food/textures, we notice they gently start to touch, smell, lick and sometimes even taste new foods.

It’s really important just to present the new food and never to push or force. That creates a negative relationship to foods. So if we just relax, have fun and enjoy it, give them time and they will explore in their own time.

Today we took out our fans and are preparing for next week heat way!!!

Remember that some Autistic/Neurodivergent Young People find it really difficult to regulate their body temperature

Here are some tips:
•Give them access to hand held fans or plug in fans
•Ensure they have access to juice/water
•Freeze yogurts, fruit, juice, ice lollies, ice cream …

🌞 And enjoy the sunshine 🌞
