The name was inspired by an anthropologist i met in one of my early trips to Chazuta. I just liked the name for a farm. Alaka was an australian lady working for the Smithsonian Museum, very nice.-. inspired person. Anyways I recently looked up if Alaka has any etymology i should be aware of, another excuse to edit rename or change something (as this project has evolved from butterfly farm to cacao farm to yoga farm to art farm .. u get the point). Anyways I found out in India there is a mythical city called Alakapuri and Alaka is also a name for girls and it means in hindi girl with lovely hair and sanskrit.- girl with lovely locked hair. -.-.
