Fort Collins Aikikai is a dojo that teaches Aikikai style Aikido. Beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome. Dues are minimal, only to offset costs.

We are affiliated with Aikido of Hawaii International, which was founded by Robert Kubo Shihan. Aikido is a martial art dedicated to resolving conflict by harmonizing with the attacker's motion. Typical techniques involve movements designed to off-balance the attacker, finishing with either submission locks or throws. ar striking/kicking arts. We are non-competitive and interested only in self-improvement. The organizer, Steve O'Hara, is a Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) who started training in Aikido in 1998 under Ron Christenham Sensei of Sarpy Aikido in Omaha. Sarpy Aikido and its affiliated dojos are part of Aikido Hawaii International (AHI). AHI is an Aikikai-affiliated Aikido organization. Aikikai is the original international Aikido organization headed by Moriteru Ueshiba, the grandson of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba.
