Ready to inspire curiosity and creativity? Join The Learning Loft today!
**What is The Learning Loft?**
The Learning Loft is an innovative educational center where scholars of all ages explore, create, and grow through hands-on, engaging classes. We’re building a supportive community that values curiosity, creativity, and academic freedom.
**Who are you looking for?**
We’re searching for enthusiastic facilitators (our word for teachers, instructors, guides) who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and skills with scholars. Prior teaching experience is not necessary. We’re looking for individuals who bring excitement, expertise, and creativity to their subject.
**What types of courses are you looking to host?**
We plan to host a wide variety of courses! A few that comes to mind are sciences (lower, middle, and upper), arts (all mediums, guided and free-flow), robotics, engineering, government/civics, writing classes, music, history, social studies, geography and culture, mathematics of any form, physical education. All ideas are welcome. If you have an idea for a class, we’d love to hear about it!
**What’s the time commitment?**
Facilitators will spend approximately three hours per week teaching, with additional as-needed time for planning lessons. Since we do not emphasize testing or grades, you won’t need to spend time grading or preparing assessments. This structure allows you to focus on creating an enjoyable and enriching experience for scholars.
Courses are scheduled in 90-minute blocks twice a week, either on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays. We encourage college students, assistant professors, and even working professionals to reach out. We are flexible and will work with your schedule to mesh with ours.
**Do I need teaching experience?**
Not at all! If you’re passionate about your subject, enjoy working with young learners, and are excited to guide hands-on exploration, you’re a great fit. Coaching is available for those who would like to try a facilitator position but are hesitant due to no experience.
**Why should I join The Learning Loft?**
At The Learning Loft, you’ll have the freedom to design creative, engaging classes in a supportive, flexible environment. You’ll make a meaningful impact on scholars, sharing what you love while working in a community that values exploration and learning without limits.
**How do I apply?**
Email a cover letter and resume to [email protected]. Feel free to include any questions you may have in that email as well. We can’t wait to hear from you and learn more about your ideas!
